Go to the small but charming temple of Pre Rup, one of the few remaining complete structures in the complex. Continue to the intricate, pink-colored temple of Banteay Srei (Citadel of Women), thought by many to be the work of the women of the Khmer Empire. Marvel at the ornate carvings on the tiny temples, located near the hill of Phnom Dei.
Make your way to one of the nearby restaurants and soak up your surroundings as you fill up on traditional curries, soups, or stir fries at your own expense. Then, spend the afternoon exploring the unique East Mebon, Ta Som, and Preah Khan temples, all built at different periods. Get a glimpse into the lives and rituals of the people that once inhabited this extraordinary space.
