FULL ITINERARY

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival /Day 2: Discover the Antique Side of Hanoi(B, L)

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport, your tour guide and driver will greet you and escort you to your hotel, help with your check-in. You can relax for the rest of the day. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Discover the Antique Side of Hanoi(B, L)
Being the capital city of Vietnam, Hanoi is buzzing with activities. However, we will help you uncover the old and subtle charm of the capital city, which is as heart-stirring as it is exciting. After breakfast, you visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the resting place of Vietnamese Revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh (It’s important to note that Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is unavailable on Monday and Friday). The huge complex is located in the center of Ba Dinh Square. It’s where people come and pay respect to their wise and beloved leader. Hanoi also houses many iconic temples and pagodas with unique architecture feats such as One-Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda, and Quan Thanh Temple. Each has a different religious meaning and is famous among visitors and locals alike.

The fun starts when the sunsets. You get to take a cyclo trip around Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi’s fascinating Old Quarter to admire its antique beauty. After that, you can enjoy a Water Puppet Show, which showcases the talent of the performers as well as Hanoi’s rich culture. When the show is over, you are escorted back to your hotel and spend the night in Hanoi.

Day 3: Marvel at the grandeur of Halong Bay (B, L, D)

The next one day and a half will be an exciting cruise around Halong Bay, a heaven on Earth that earned the title ‘World Heritage site’ for its pristine natural beauty. You will take a 3-hour scenic drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay, in which you can marvel at 2,000 limestone islands that scattered in the calm water of Halong. You can also watch as traditional sampans and junks sail the glinting water, grottos, thick forests, and hidden coves. It will be the cruise of a lifetime! If you’re looking for adventures, you can choose among a variety of optional activities such as kayaking, swimming, and diving. Overnight onboard.

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An (B, L) / Day 5: Hoi An City Exploration (B, L)

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An (B, L)
Today, continue your remarkable Halong Bay cruise until you finish your brunch and disembark the cruiser at around 10:00 am. Our driver and guide will drive you back to Hanoi and prepare for your flight to Da Nang. After arriving at Da Nang airport, you will be escorted to Hoi An (about half an hour drive) and do some check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 5: Hoi An City Exploration (B, L)
After breakfast, we go around the poetic town of Hoi An to visit the legacy of people that once traded here like the Japanese Bridge, the famous Chinese Temple, and Vietnamese former merchants house. To discover the daily life of Hoi An people, you will visit a craftsman in the old street of Hoi An Town, where you get to witness how to make a lantern. You can even keep the lantern for yourself as a meaningful souvenir from Danang. Later, you can discover the city whatever way you want. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 6: The splendor along the way (B, L)

On the way to Hue, you can admire the view of the coast and Da Nang from the top of Hai Van Pass. You then go to visit Non Nuoc Beach, Cham Museum, and the famous Marble Mountain, which stands for the five essential elements of nature. Existing in a coastal area, the Marble Mountains are a cluster of five hills made from limestone and marble representing metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. The caves within the mountains are full of secrets with bullet holes from wartime and buildings standing within the caves. There are also Buddhist sanctuaries scattered across the mountains which are very famous for people across Vietnam. There’s also a special circular cave like no other that leads to the summit, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the whole coastal area.You have lunch at a local restaurant in Da Nang city and arrive in Hue in the afternoon. After checking in, you will have some free time on your own. Overnight in Hue.

Day 7: Hue Sightseeing (B, L)

After having breakfast at your hotel, be ready to indulge in the regal atmosphere of the imperial city. You start with a visit to the Majestic Tomb of King Ming Mang, then sail on the Perfume River by royal dragon boat to serene Thien Mu Pagoda. The trip wouldn’t be complete without a walk through the grounds of the Imperial Citadel and a tour around the Forbidden Purple City. After that, stroll through the sprawling market of Dong Ba Market to get a taste of people’s daily life. Overnight in Hue.

Day 8: Hue – Ho Chi Minh City (B) ( Saigon After Dark by Vespa Tour)

Today, after having breakfast, our guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. After checking in and having a rest, the day is yours to walk around on your own or stay in your hotel to relax. More interestingly, in the dark, you have a great opportunity to join the buzz of Saigon’s nightlife from the back of a vintage Vespa (about a 4.5-hour evening tour). On the way, you can stop at some spot to taste succulent Vietnamese street foods. Ride down streets alive to the pulsating sound of live music.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City Sightseeing (B, L)

In the morning, you set out for the incredible underground Cu Chi Tunnels. After discovering the massive subterranean labyrinth of Cu Chi Tunnels, we drive you back to Ho Chi Minh City to visit the War Remnants Museum and Reunification Palace (the former Presidential Palace) so that you can understand more about the country’s glorious history. Reunification Palace is one of the finest colonial buildings in Saigon with a harmonious combination of Western and Eastern styles. It’s a special national relic for its architectural and historical values. After visiting some museums, we will discover a vibrant and lively side of Saigon by stopping by Ben Thanh Market, Old Saigon Post Office and Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat). These are absolutely nice choices for a free stroll. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh (B, L) / Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City – Siem Reap (B)

An Indochina tour cannot do without a trip down the Mekong Delta. After breakfast at the hotel, we will spend the whole day exploring the Mekong Delta and enjoy delicious homemade meals. After that, you come back to Ho Chi Minh City for a rest.

Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City – Siem Reap (B)
After having breakfast and relaxing, you fly to Siem Reap. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 12: Visit Angkor Thom and the renowned Angkor Wat Temple Complex (B, L)

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to the south gate of Angkor Thom, where you get to visit Bayon Temple and Elephant Terrace. Angkor Thom is the last capital of the Khmer Empire, with stone monuments testifying its once glorious architecture. At the very center of the ancient city, you can find Bayon Temple. There are over 2000 large faces carved on 54 towers, giving this temple its majestic character. Another impressive structure in Angkor Thom is the Elephant Terrace, which is named after the sculptures of elephants that it carries. Later, you have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you visit the world-famous Angkor Wat Temple then continue to Bakheng Temple. At sunset, you head out to the jungle to admire the splendid view of Angkor Wat from afar. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 13: Continue to visit ancient temples in Siem Reap (B, L)

A lot of people get up very early in the morning to enjoy the stunning sunrise over Angkor Wat. You can join them if you like. Plus, you get the chance to have a friendly talk with the monks and nuns at a nearby pagoda. Breakfast is available at the hotel. You start the day by visiting some local villages on the way to Banteay Srei Temples. Have lunch at a local restaurant for exotic cuisine. The next destinations on the list are Ta Prohm temple and Takeo Temple. In the late afternoon, you will have some leisure time. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 14: Siem Reap Departure (B)

The trip ends with breakfast this morning. You will have some free time to absorb the splendor of Vietnam and Cambodia that we’ve guided you through in the last couple of days until our guide meets and escorts you to the airport for your flight back home. Thanks for traveling with Indochina Tours!
